Excellent staff, quiet location and beautiful grounds. I especially liked the fact that they left some corners of the garden for wildlife.

Overlooking Lake Windermere and the Langdale Pikes, the Craig Manor is 5 minute walk from Bowness. The rooms have modern decor, en suite bathrooms, and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels.

The hotel reception and restaurant areas have been significantly redeveloped since our last stay and are much improved. Our room also appears to to have been recently refurbished. All this adds to a much more modern feel. The hotel also benefits from hands-on management. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much and slept well both nights in what proved to be a quiet room. The car park is a little tight but is provided free. Location is just a short stroll into the centre of Bowness and, for us, was ideal. We certainly hope to stay again.

* The hotel is in the heart of the English Lake District, on the shores of lake Windermere, in 17 acres of private grounds. Most bedrooms have lake views, others look over the gardens.

Lovely comfortable room with a nice big bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfasts!

The dining in the evening at Henrock was fantastic and the waiting staff were very attentive. In the morning we had breakfast at the hotel too and again the food did not disappoint, nor did the staff. Overall a fabulous experience and we shall definitely return.
